An emergency is a serious, unexpected, often dangerous situation that requires immediate action. The emergency procedure is a plan of actions to be conducted in a certain order or manner, in response to an emergency event.
The objective of the Safety and Emergency Procedure Training (SEPT) course is to ensure Flight Crew are equipped with the necessary skills to handle any emergency or unusual situation that can occur on-board their aircraft and that they are informed of any new regulations, procedures or equipment.
In terms of SACAA legislation, Flight Deck and Cabin Crew are required to attend SEPT Initial and then recurrent training annually. All Flight Crew are required to complete a skills test on board the aircraft on which they operate. .
